Description:
Pentastar Aviation, LLC is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Control Coordinator to support our demanding and challenging air carrier operation with a large fleet of varying aircraft types and locations.
The Aircraft Maintenance Control Coordinator along with other members of the Maintenance Control team is responsible for the maintenance and safe operation of company fleet aircraft at the main-base and sub-bases. The position requires the skills of an experienced and technically proficient individual with a strong work ethic and desire to be a part of a highly successful team of professionals. This individual needs to be passionate and dedicated to setting the standard for safety, professionalism, and reliability.
This position reports directly to the Managed Fleet Director of Maintenance.
The successful candidate will:
- Play a key role in Pentastar Aviation's ability to set the standard for safety,
- Be aware of the mechanical status of all operating fleet aircraft including anticipated irregularities that might contribute to or create a delay.
- Maintain continuous communication and act as liaison with the Flight Operations Control Center (OCC), providing the current mechanical status reports of the fleet.
- Initiate maintenance actions for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance as required and assign priorities and completion times.
- Actively work to mitigate aircraft down-time and remain at the highest operational levels.
- Need to be available to support a 24/7/365 air transport operation which may include an on-call and on-demand element.
- Maintain aircraft in accordance with the GMPM.
- Oversee the entire maintenance cycle to include billing times, work order packets, tracking system updates, and closure of the work package.

Requirements and Qualifications:
- Must have the ability to think critically and creatively solve complex maintenance issues to minimize costs while fully complying with appropriate laws/regulations and have a proven record of planning, developing, and implementing maintenance standards, practices, and procedures.
- Must hold a current valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant License (A&P) with no history of infractions.
- Minimum 5 years recent A&P mechanic experience performing turbine powered aircraft maintenance required.
- Minimum 3 years Maintenance Controller/Maintenance Planner experience preferably working under an approved FAA Part 135 operation.
- Ability to work with little supervision.
- Must be able to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
- Working knowledge and ability to troubleshoot systems on airframe and engine, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic.
- Must be available to provide uncontrollable standby 24/7/365 on an as-needed basis in conjunction with your team to support a demanding operation.
- Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work, days, nights, weekends, and overtime if needed.
- Excellent customer focus, communication skills, and work ethic.
- Must have prior experience with aircraft maintenance tracking programs, i.e. Camp and CMP
- Knowledge of aircraft manufacture's maintenance inspection programs.
